Here’s the illustrated design of the Valentine’s Day themed doughnut reflecting a starry night romance.

For the Doughnut:
  • 2 cups all-purpose flour
  • 1/4 cup granulated sugar
  • 1 tsp salt
  • 1 packet instant yeast (about 2 1/4 tsp)
  • 2 eggs, at room temperature
  • 1/4 cup whole milk, warmed
  • 1/2 cup unsalted butter, room temperature, cut into small pieces
Midnight Blue Glaze:
  • 1 cup powdered sugar
  • 2-3 tbsp milk or water
  • Midnight blue gel food coloring
  • White nonpareils (to resemble stars)
  • Edible glitter
  • Silver dragees (to represent planets)
  • White chocolate (for crescent moon)

  1. Dough Preparation:
    • Mix the flour, sugar, salt, and yeast in a large bowl.
    • Beat the eggs and milk together, then add to the dry ingredients, mixing to form a dough.
    • Knead in the butter until incorporated, then allow the dough to rise until doubled in size.
  2. Shaping and Baking:
    • Once risen, roll out the dough and cut into doughnut shapes.
    • Place the doughnuts on a baking sheet, cover, and let them rise again until puffy.
    • Bake at 350°F (175°C) for about 10 minutes, or until lightly golden.
    • Let the doughnuts cool completely on a wire rack.
  3. Midnight Blue Glaze:
    • Whisk together the powdered sugar, milk or water, and enough midnight blue gel food coloring to reach a deep blue hue.
    • Dip the top of each doughnut into the glaze, then set aside for the glaze to start setting.
  4. Decoration:
    • Before the glaze sets completely, sprinkle the white nonpareils to create a starry effect.
    • Dust with edible glitter for a celestial sparkle.
    • Place silver dragees to represent the planets.
    • Mold white chocolate into a crescent moon shape and place it on each doughnut.

Enjoy this Starry Night Romance doughnut as a magical and romantic treat perfect for Valentine’s Day or any special occasion under the stars.
