1. Who we are

doughnut.com, including the Doughnut Run game at doughnut.com/play, is run by Doughnut ("we", "us"). You can reach us on X at @jagdotme. By using the site you agree to these terms and to our Privacy Policy.

2. Playing the game

• You can play without an account. Your progress is saved in your own browser.
• The game is provided "as is". We may change levels, fix bugs, or reset things when needed to keep the game fair and working.

3. Accounts

• You need an account to post high scores or buy adverts. You can sign up with email or with Google.
• You must be at least 13 years old to create an account.
• Keep your login safe. You're responsible for what happens on your account.
• We may suspend or close accounts that break these terms.
• You can delete your account at any time from My account. See our Privacy Policy for what happens to your data.

4. High scores, player names and social links

• Every score is checked by replaying your run on our server. Scores that can't be reproduced aren't recorded.
• Don't use bots, modified game files or other tricks to post scores. We may remove scores or accounts that we believe cheated.
• Player names and social links are public. Don't use names or links that are offensive, hateful, sexual, misleading, impersonate someone else, or infringe someone's rights. We may change or remove them without notice.
• Social links must point to your own profile on a supported network.

5. Level adverts

• How it works. Each level in the game shows one advert. Adverts are ranked by the total amount paid for them. The highest total gets Level 1, the next highest gets Level 2, and so on. If two totals are equal, the one placed first ranks higher. Adverts ranked below the last published level wait until a place opens.
• What you're buying. You're paying for a ranking, not for a fixed period or a fixed number of views. Someone else can outbid you at any time, which moves your advert to a lower level or to the waiting list. You can raise your own total to climb back, and you only pay the difference.
• Payments are processed by Stripe. Prices are in pounds sterling (GBP). A completed payment is what places or raises your advert.
• Your content. You confirm that you own or have permission to use the logo, name and link you submit, and that they're lawful and accurate. You give us permission to display them in the game and on the advert board.
• What's not allowed: adult or sexual content; hate, harassment or violence; illegal products or services; scams, phishing or malware; gambling or financial offers that aren't lawful where they're shown; link shorteners, chat or group invite links; anything that infringes someone else's trademark or copyright; content aimed at deceiving players.
• Editing and deleting. You can change your advert's name and logo, or delete it, at any time from My account. Deleting an advert takes it out of the game straight away. Money already paid isn't refunded.
• Removal. We may hide or delete any advert that breaks these rules, or that we reasonably believe harms players or the site. We don't refund adverts removed for breaking the rules.
• Refunds and cancellation. Payments are non-refundable except where the law requires otherwise. Your advert starts showing as soon as your payment clears, and you ask for that to happen by paying. That means the 14-day cancellation right for digital services no longer applies once your advert is live. This doesn't affect your other legal rights as a consumer.
• Changes to the programme. If we ever close the advertising programme, we'll give at least 30 days' notice on the site.

6. Things you must not do

• Attack, overload, scrape or reverse-engineer the site or its servers, or try to get around security or rate limits.
• Use the site to break the law or to harm other people.

7. Our content

The game, artwork, sounds and code belong to us or our licensors. You may share screenshots and links to the game. Please don't copy or republish the game itself.

8. Liability

We work hard to keep the site running, but we can't promise it will always be available or error-free. As far as the law allows, we aren't liable for indirect or unforeseeable losses. For an advert, our total liability to you is limited to the amount you paid for it in the previous 12 months. Nothing in these terms limits liability that can't be limited by law, such as for death or personal injury caused by negligence, or for fraud.

9. Changes to these terms

We may update these terms. The date at the top shows the latest version. If a change significantly affects advertisers, we'll show a notice on the site before it takes effect. If you keep using the site after a change, you accept the new terms.

10. Law

These terms are governed by the laws of England and Wales, and the courts of England and Wales have jurisdiction. If you live elsewhere in the UK, you may also bring proceedings in your local courts.
