How to play Doughnut Chess
Doughnut Chess is free wizard chess you play in your browser: Pink Glaze against Dark Ganache, with real chess rules and a 3D Doughnut Finisher animation every time a piece is captured.
How to play
- Tap or click one of your pink doughnuts, then tap a highlighted square to move it. Drag on the board to turn the camera, or use Pink Side, Cocoa Side, Top-Down and Side Cam.
- All the rules of chess apply: castling on both sides, en passant, and promotion, where you choose a Queen, Rook, Bishop or Knight.
- A game is drawn by stalemate, threefold repetition, the 50-move rule or when neither side has enough pieces left to checkmate.
- You can also type or say moves such as "e2 to e4" or "Knight to f3".
Three ways to play
- 1P vs AI: you are Pink Glaze against the computer, on Easy, Medium or Hard.
- 2P Pass & Play: two players on one screen.
- AI vs AI War: sit back and watch the computer play itself.
Doughnut Finishers
Every capture plays a finisher: the Giant Rolling Pin Crush, the Scalding Espresso Flood, the Crème Brûlée Blowtorch, the Pac-Dough Bite or the Orbital Cruller Slam. Pick one from the Finisher menu, or leave it on Auto.
Hall of Fame
Beat the computer and, if you are signed in, your win goes on the Hall of Fame for that level, ranked by the fewest moves. Every move of the game is listed in standard notation, and you can copy it as PGN.
