How to play Doughnut Snooker
Doughnut Snooker is free 3D snooker you play in your browser. Take on Sprinkles at Easy, Medium, Hard or Pro, or play a friend on the same device, on a rooftop table in Doughnut Town at sunset.
How to play
- Aim: tap or click a ball to line up a full-ball hit on it, or tap anywhere on the cloth to point the cue there. Fine-tune with the ‹ › arrows (each tap is a tiny step) or slide along the AIM strip. On a computer, A and D nudge the cue and holding Shift makes every step finer.
- Shoot: pull the power bar on the right down and let go. Pull further for a harder shot, or slide back to the top to cancel. On a computer, W and S set the power and Space shoots.
- Spin: tap the white ball button. Hit low for draw (the white comes back), high for follow (it runs on) and either side for side spin. Raise the cue for swerve.
- Camera: the camera button switches between cue view, table view and top view. Pinch or scroll to zoom.
- The aiming guide shows where the white meets the object ball and where that ball will go. When it is heading into a pocket, the pocket lights up green.
The rules
Pot a red (1 point), then a colour of your choice: yellow 2, green 3, brown 4, blue 5, pink 6 or black 7. The colour comes back to its spot and you go for another red. When the reds are gone, pot the colours in order from yellow to black. The highest score wins the frame.
After a red, the colour you aim at is chosen for you, or tap a colour chip to pick one. If you play off a cushion, the colour the white hits first counts as your choice.
Fouls
Missing the ball you are on, hitting or potting the wrong ball, or potting the white is a foul. Your opponent gets the points: at least 4, or the value of the ball involved if that is higher. After the white goes in, place it in the D and play on. Doughnut Snooker uses club rules, so free balls, touching balls, push shots and the miss rule are not refereed.
Four levels of Sprinkles
- Easy: takes on the obvious pot and often misses.
- Medium: pots well and plays safe when nothing is on.
- Hard: plans where the white will stop for the next shot.
- Pro: adds follow and draw, and makes big breaks.
Choose a quick 6-red frame, 10 reds or the full 15.
Highest breaks
Your best break in each frame against Sprinkles goes on the leaderboard if you are signed in, with separate boards for 6, 10 and 15 reds. A perfect 15-red frame is a maximum 147.
