How to play Doughnut Escape 2
Doughnut Escape 2 is a free puzzle game you play in your browser. A batch of doughnuts walks out of the bakery on its own, straight into ovens, fryers and drops. Tap a doughnut, pick a skill, and get enough of the batch to the van. There are 30 levels across five bakery worlds.
How to play
- Doughnuts walk by themselves and turn round at walls. Tap one, then tap a skill (or pick the skill first, then tap the doughnut).
- With a skill picked, the doughnuts that can use it right now glow yellow. If a tap does nothing, a message says why.
- Each level shows how many doughnuts you must save and how many of each skill you have. Save every doughnut for three stars.
- Long drops crumble doughnuts, oil and fryers are fatal, and freezer doors freeze anyone caught inside. Use the pause, 2× and 4× speed and restart buttons at the top.
- On a phone, turn it sideways: the bakery fills the screen and the doughnuts are easier to tap.
The eight skills
- Jam Stop: the doughnut stands still and turns the others round.
- Hole Puncher: digs straight down through soft dough.
- Sprinkle Chute: a parachute for long drops. It works mid-air.
- Pretzel Stairs: builds a staircase up and over walls.
- Cruller: tunnels sideways through soft sponge. Steel stops it.
- Sticky Glaze: that doughnut climbs walls for good.
- Jelly Bounce: becomes a jelly pad that springs the others over gaps.
- Pop Tart: fizzes, then pops a hole through burnt crust. Nothing else breaks crust.
The five worlds
The Proofing Room (levels 1 to 6) teaches the basics. The Glaze Factory (7 to 12) adds conveyor belts, Cruller and Sticky Glaze. The Cold Store (13 to 18) adds Jelly Bounce and freezer doors. The Fryer (19 to 24) adds Pop Tart, burnt crust and rising oil. The Grand Bakery (25 to 30) mixes everything, ending with thirty doughnuts in The Grand Finale.
Tips
- Jam Stop the doughnut nearest the danger first, before the rest of the batch reaches it.
- Start Pretzel Stairs a few steps before a wall, not right against it: each step rises one row.
- Light a Pop Tart as its doughnut walks up to the crust; the pop lands just ahead of it.
- Every doughnut needs its own Sprinkle Chute or Sticky Glaze, so give them out as the batch arrives.
